Admissions criteria
Application for a place at Evelyn Grace Academy is by Common Application Form. Where the number of applications for admission is greater than the admissions number and the Academy is therefore over-subscribed, applications will be considered against the cirteria set out below. After the admissions of pupils with statements of Special Educational Needs where the Academy is named on the statement, the criteria will be applied in the order in which they are set out below:
a) Children in public care.
b) Children who have a sibling who already attends the school and who will continue to do so on the date of admission (for this purpose "siblings" means a whole, half or step-brother or -sister resident at the same address).
c) Children who live closest to the permanent site in Shakespeare Road using a straight line measurement from the main reception of the Academy, to the main entrance of the child's home.
APPEALS
If parents are not offered a place at the Academy for their child, they have the right to appeal against that decision. Appeals will be heard by the governors' appeals panel appointed in accordance with the statuatory code of practice on schools admission appeals.
